OpenWater Solutions, LLC to Present at Netcool Users Conference

Micromuse will be hosting their 8th annual North American Netcool Users Conference in New York City on October 25th – 27th, 2005. The theme of this year’s conference is “Assuring Business and Services with the Netcool Suite.”

OpenWater Solutions will be one of the speakers at this years event. Jeff Parker and Shawn Ennis from OpenWater will be presenting at the Micromuse Users Conference in New York City on Wednesday, October 26th, 2005 at 9:45am. Come listen to OpenWater’s presentation titled, “Netcool for NOC-less Environments.”

OpenWater’s presentation will focus on addressing clients with the following characteristics:

• Large environment with millions of events per day


• No network or security educated 1st level response with the Network Operations Center


• Highly trained field technicians do exist for addressing level 2 & 3 issues, but do not have the time to sit at a monitor to address each event that comes in


• Field techs are unproductive due to having to start at ground zero each time an outage is reported


• False positives, quiet failures and mis-configurations are common place


• No 10,000 foot view exists. There is no way to actively supervise the IT services

OpenWater will present a solution to this vexing issue. OpenWater has developed an event routing, escalation and notification engine that is specifically designed to address the above challenges. The solution was built to be managed by the NOC Supervisor – meaning you don’t need to be Impact Certified to use the solution. The following are attributes of the solution:
